FemtoClaw was created to give AI systems a safe and deterministic interface to the real world. We believe that generative models express intent, but only deterministic runtimes should hold authority over hardware and data【294371630137505†L14-L28】.
Our mission is to empower AI agents with the ability to reason about actions while preserving human control over execution. By separating inference (intent) from authority (execution), we create systems where deterministic policies mediate every tool call and external side effect. This separation ensures that generative models remain advisory, not authoritative.
Large language models produce helpful suggestions and plans, but they lack the determinism required for safe execution. Our runtime enforces strict schemas and rule‑based capability gating to ensure that AI intent is mediated through rigorous checks and balances【294371630137505†L14-L28】.
By declaring capabilities in advance and gating all system interactions, we avoid emergent behaviour and injection attacks. Each capability module is a vetted “skill” that an agent may wield, providing only the power that has been explicitly granted【294371630137505†L14-L28】.
FemtoClaw is open source and welcomes contributions from practitioners, researchers and operators. Together we can build safe, reliable infrastructure for the next generation of intelligent agents.
Whether in the cloud, on the factory floor or aboard a satellite, FemtoClaw enables sovereign execution in resource constrained and regulated environments. Our design is portable and requires no external dependencies【93068253089653†L381-L389】.
We invite you to participate in the FemtoClaw project. Help us improve the runtime, expand the capability library, refine the specification or create educational resources. Every issue, pull request and discussion moves the community forward.
